Whiteboard Wow

Thanks to everyone for sharing your insights and enthusiasm for your interactive whiteboards and such. I learned so much and I feel certain I’m not alone. Now I only wish I could visit your classrooms and watch you teach using your latest technology! For those of you with Promethean boards, I’ve been given permission to share a teeny, tiny secret! You’ll soon see a familiar name (The Mailbox) offering interactive whiteboard activities. Keep your eyes peeled. 🙂

Have a super-duper Monday! Tomorrow is February 1, and you know what that means: today I’m cookin’ up ideas for our first February giveaway! If you have a February topic you’d like to chat about with other teachers, let me know!

Happily,
Diane

  1. We celebrate “I love to Read ” week at our school. This year I am having a day celebrating Clifford -with dog headbands, Clifford snacks, Clifford coloring, Clifford puzzles, Clifford books, etc.
Another day, we will celebrate Gingerbread men and decorate them, eat them, read about them, etc.
We will also have a groundhog day, with groundhog hats, groundhogs on a stick coming out of a cup (hole in the ground), groundhog books, groundhog edibles, groundhog puppets, etc.
This week also coincided with our 100th Day celebration–so that took over 1 day out of the week.

  2. Pat, thank you for your question! It’s a great one. I know the activities are designed specifically for Promethean boards. Regarding whether they work on other types of interactive whiteboards, I honestly don’t know. Does anyone else know whether the technology is interchangeable?

  3. I used a Smartboard for three years before the district changed to Promethean boards. Promethean allows for transfers from Smartboards. Maybe you can check with Smart technologies. If enough people ask, who knows?

  4. This is great! We’ll be looking forward to those activities. We have a SmartBoard in our program. I’ve never even heard of Promethean boards…what’s the difference?
