Top 5 Flavors!

July is National Ice Cream Month, which isn’t surprising since the weather tends to be so hot! It’s a shame I don’t currently have ice cream in my freezer, but if I did it would probably be chocolate chip cookie dough, which happens to be the fifth most popular flavor in the U.S. What are the top 5? Here’s the countdown:

5. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
4. Mint Chocolate Chip
3. Cookies and Cream
2. Chocolate
1. Vanilla

I’m on board with numbers 5, 3, and 1. 🙂

Tell me your favorite flavor – and check out this super ice cream process art!

I think I’ll call this grape banana ice cream with cherries, cotton candy, and blueberries. 🙂

Since ice cream comes in so many flavors with an endless amount of inclusions, encourage students to make this super ice cream collage! Have each child paint a sturdy paper plate as desired. Encourage her to sprinkle confetti over the wet paint. Then have her snip pieces of craft foam and glue them to the plate. If desired, have each child add texture details to a brown construction paper cone cutout. Then instruct him to glue the cone to his finished ice cream scoop. To add a writing element to the project, have students write to describe their newly created ice cream flavor.
