Ticktock—Time’s a-Tickin’! Win a Book/CD/DVD

Raise your hand if you can’t believe that the first nine weeks of the school year are nearly over. They are for my kids next week. Time keeps a-tickin’ and, for me, feels like it speeds up from now through the end of December. I can’t slow down time, but I can tell you about some fabulous freebies and chances to win that will help time work for you.

If you had a nickel for every time students ask “How much longer?”, you’d probably have a healthy little nest egg. Time Timer can help. As time passes, the red disk on the timer grows smaller, so everyone can see at a glance how much time is left. Use it for transitions, standardized tests, and more. Check it out here.

  1. The timer would be a fantastic addition to my classroom for children with ASD. We love our visual reminders and this would be awesome to smooth transitions throughout the day.

  2. The Very First Thanksgiving has a lot of mini lesson opportunities within the book. It would be great to have the DVD, CD, book set to help foster these lesson opportunities!

  3. The timer would be perfect for my class! As a preschool teacher, my three year olds cannot tell time, and ask me all day long how much longer until the next activity. Having the timer would allow them to have a visual of time for themselves!

  4. I would love the timer. It would help me with a group of students that I have who need to have steps broken down for them. A timer like this would be a godsend!

  5. I have used one of those timers and found it very helpful for some students. I have gotten small desktop versions that I borrowed from our resource department and placed on individual student desks (those who tend to dawdle, etc.).

  6. The timer would be good for my kindergarten class. We haven’t started to tell time yet and they are always asking when is lunch.

  7. The book would be an aewrsome addition. If i were to win the book it would be donated to our school library so all the kids could enjoy the story. We use the old wind up timer. This timer makes it easier for the kids to see how much time is left. This is especially helpful with our kids who don’t yet recognize the numbers.

  8. My preschool students love hearing this book every year, so a new copy would be great to replace my tattered copy! I love to use CD’s for the kids to listen to stories at center time! And a DVD would be a wonderful added bonus to our Thanksgiving day celebration!

  9. We would love the DVD to the book we already read every year. “Very first Thanksgiving Day” is one book we read every year after our Thanksgiving Feast. Half of our students dress up as Indians and half as Pilgrims and have a meal together.

  10. I would love the Time timer! It’s so important to teach students how to manage their time and this would be the perfect tool! I would love to win a copy of the Very First Thanksgiving too! So many great resources! Thank you!

  11. I am always looking for a simple story about the first Thanksgiving. This looks perfect for my preschool classroom. I would definitely use it

  12. I would love The Very First Thanksgiving Day. My class loves listening to books in our listening center. The book and cd combo would be perfect!

  13. I would love to receive The Very First Thanksgiving Day book to read to my VPK class. My class loves holiday themed books snd activities that relate to the story.

  14. Definitely the timer! I use a timer quite often but mine doesn’t have the red section. That would be great for my kindergarten and first grade classroom!

  15. I work with special needs students who have hard time with transitioning, so the timer would be wonderful! The book would be a great addition to my Thanksgiving unit.

  16. I would love this book! This aligns perfectly with our 4th grade standards in Social Studies. We love to connect prior learning with the content of the Pilgrims and the Early New England Colonies!!

  17. The Very First Thanksgiving Day would add to my kindergarten classroom. I read to them each day and I have the children take turns picking a books with the theme/s of the month. Thank you!!

  18. The first Thanksgiving book would be awesome! I have the timer in my preschool classroom and I love them! The children remind me when I forget to set it.

  19. I would love the Thanksgiving book or the timer they would both be great addition to my class. They love listening to cd books!

  20. I would love to have the Very First Thanksgiving Day DVD. Each year we do a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving with all our second graders. They bring in paper plates, jellybeans, popcorn, and other snacks highlighted in the tv special. We watch the show and enjoy time together. It would be great to compare/contrast the 2 videos with a venn diagram activity. I can envision the venn diagram circles being 2 huge turkey bellies. :).

  21. I would like to win the “My Very First Thanksgiving Day” book/CD/DVD set to help teach my Sudanese kids about the holiday. Thank you for donating this!

  22. The timer would be a welcome addition to my classroom. Some of students use the timer for incentive. (work x amount of time, earn y amount of time of self selection activity)

  23. I would love The very first Thanksgiving book set!!! I enjoy teaching about the different holidays and we really enjoy books in our classroom!

  24. I would love the Thanksgiving book. I use read at least 3 times in a 2 and half hour class and the children love CD’s. Thank you.

  25. The time would be great in my classroom! It could show the student how much time they have in each station, then how much time they have to clean up before the next station or activity. It would also be great for snack and lunch time. I try and explain to the kids we only have so long for lunch (I have some very pokey eaters and some chatty Kathy’s). The thanksgiving book would be perfect for our unit and the prior unit which we will spend it “In the Wood” learning all about nature, our world, and the animals that live in our part of the country all leading up to the native Americans and the first thanks giving.
