The Loss of a Talent

When someone dies, no matter who it is, I feel sadness—and I feel for the people who were close to that person and now have to move forward in life without them. I always feel worse when the person is a children’s book author. I think it’s because I assume that person had all of these stories inside them and death has taken away not only that individual but the stories as well. That was my feeling when I heard that Amy Krouse Rosenthal had died of ovarian cancer. Here’s an article about her life and accomplishments. Rest in peace, Amy. And thank you for all of your contributions to children’s literature.
