I’m a teacher—okay a former teacher—who has never lost appreciation for a good deal for teachers. And because my best friend is a teacher, I just got in on a whopper of a teacher deal. Each summer, my friend and I try to get away for a couple days of girl time. Last week, we finally pulled it off and headed up to the mountains of North Carolina. It was a wonderful trip, made even better by the 50 percent just-for-teachers discount we received at the splendid The Mast Farm Inn! Yes, you read that right…50 percent off! I could go on and on about the wonderful food, beautiful views, and outlet shopping, but instead, I’ll tell you what I did when I got home. I searched online for teacher discounts and voilà—I found the mother lode.
This was my favorite site (click here). You’ll find teacher discounts on office supplies, craft supplies, clothing, insurance, electronics, travel destinations, and more. Now, I haven’t investigated all these deals; I’m leaving that up to you. And like the deal at The Mast Farm Inn, I’m guessing there are saving opportunities that are specific to your location. The real learning is this—don’t be shy. Be proud of your profession and cash in! You deserve it!
