I love the look on this little penguin’s face. It perfectly reflects the way lots of kids and teachers are feeling right now. Are we ready to take the plunge?

Overwhelmed. We are in our 2nd week, and feeling like I can’t get my head above water. Maybe I should jump like little penguin.
Be Brave,Little Penguin, looks like a very good book to read.
Feeling good! First week back with the kids and all is going well so far.
I agree with the look on his face. He definitely questioning whether to jump in or not.
I am itinerant, so I am meeting with lots of teachers and trying to get things organized. Definitely jumped in and overwhelmed right now!
Super ready!
Definitely ready to go. Looking forward to a good year!
We are in our second day of school. I had all of my students last year, so we are pretty much back in the swing of things. I am excited to be working with the students again this year.
Excited can’t wait! Gathering all my Books and Mailbox Resources for Back to School Activities.
This is our first full week of school, my second year of kindergarten at this school and I am feeling very good, confident and excited for the school year! Like the little penguin, I was somewhat nervous, but was ready to take the plunge!!
I’m a preschool teacher for children with special needs. I have a total of 7 students, between the afternoon and morning. classes. I was totally ready to take the plunge the first week. Now we are into the third week and many referrals are being made, so I’d like to back paddle at this time. FYI, I did know it would happen.
Second week,, a little overwhelmed but getting into the routine
I am having an awesome year with one of the best group of kids. We have had 7 days and they are a great bunch!
Just about to start the year and feeling anxious and somewhat overwhelmed but ready to go!
The to do list is very long at this point. We have had 8 days, and I have a very sweet class!
We’re getting there! It’s been a wild two days!
Still settling in!
Anxious
I am excitedly anxious about this year. New roles and responsibilities will do that to you I guess. We just finished our second week of school and are starting to settle in.
Just started this Wednesday, as a long term sub in a K and 1st grade combination, and am excitedly overwhelmed. Thought I was going to retire at the end of the month, …but I met those kids and fell in love with them, so now I am excited to teach them and work with a wonderful assistant! Would love to read that book to the students, so they can see they are not the only ones who did not seem ready to “Jump in.”
Bittersweet. It’s hard to say good-bye to summer vacation.
Still trying to get my ‘ducks in a row!’
Anxious
Two weeks under my hat so far feeling great! This week is Back to School Night which always brings up a little anxiety.
Our first week is in the bag and were cruising along!! I love integrated preschool!!
I had to leave the comfort of the elementary school and plunge into the middle school as well. So I teach 2nd, 1st and then Kinder, eat lunch make some changes to the plans, then head off to the middle school for 2 classes in the afternoon. this on top of recovering from ankle replacement surgery and recovery, still wearing the boot after 3 1/2 months! Whew!
I was all ready and now I’m being a doubting Thomas. I must stay brave!
I’m on maternity leave now and will have to be brave when I return to my classroom at the beginning of October!
I have not started yet. I feel fairly confident. I’m always alittle nervous!
Feeling ready as I’ll ever be 🙂
This is our first week with kiddos and it’s going good so far! Hopefully it stays this way! 🙂
I am really excited for school this year. So far the first few days have been great.
Pretty overwhelmed at the moment since I’ve been on medical leave until last week which caused me to miss the beginning days, I’m hanging in there!
Today was our Open House and it was great! Can’t wait to start a new year.
Every August starts with the back to school crazy dreams. They are random and make no sense but it’s a reminder that it’s time to get going for the new year. Labor Day weekend is part sit back and enjoy the last days of vacation – part planning to make the first week go smoothly – part one more day in my classroom to be sure that everything has that organized and ready look. I’m waiting on the last one for Monday!
This school year is going to be awesome! This would be a great addition in our library!
