  8. Can’t have enough chapter books for readers learning to fly! The new series for newly independent readers from Random House gets my vote!

  9. The Random House books for newly independent readers really caught my attention. As a Kindergarten teacher I have several students in this category. It seems each year I have more and more student coming into kindergarten reading already. I need some low level books to challenge them enough to keep them interested. All the Water in the World sounds like a winner too! Thanks for asking.

  10. I teach preschool but an looking forward to getting the new book, “The Little Red Pen.”
I like to start the year with books that use items that can be handled by the children during their retell time activities. The Reader’s theater will be a fun way to get the students involved.
I have already received the Westcott Scissors and the Watermelon Teachers kit. Both are great resources and teaching aides.

  11. The Watermelon site is my favorite summer freebie offer. With all of the activities available, I have a list of activities planned already, thanks to their cross-curriculum approach to learning about watermelons!

This is also my first time visiting the blog and I am very impressed! Looking forward to visiting frequently.

    Best,
    Mrs. Trout

  12. Went to the watermelon site and wish they had a section for pre -k We have a garden that includes watermelon with yellow middles so aI was excited to get some new information

  13. I teach preschool and I think there are some things I could use from the watermelon kit. I also think The Little Red Pen book looks good.
