Speech Bubble Goodness!

speechSometimes the best things in the world are the simplest things. For example, take a look at this pattern. It’s so simple! Yet it’s one of my favorite patterns available on our website. Why? Just think of all its uses!

  • Post a picture from a magazine that shows a person. Give each child a speech bubble pattern and have her cut it out and write what the person might be saying. Attach the cutouts around the picture.

  • Post a picture that relates to a theme being studied in the classroom. You might post a dinosaur, a butterfly, a snowman, or a holiday tree! Give each child a speech bubble pattern and have him cut it out and write (or dictate) from the perspective of the object or critter. Display the cutouts.

  • Post a picture of yourself. Have students write something you usually say on speech bubbles. Post the cutout speech bubbles around your picture.

How would you use this speech bubble?

PS: Do you want lined speech bubbles? Blank speech bubbles? Colorful speech bubbles? We have options right here!
