No Name

pencil-1037609_960_720How annoying is it to receive a nameless student paper? It’s incredibly annoying. But, as a teacher, it wasn’t one of those serious management issues that I felt I needed to tackle immediately. I mean, teachers are busy, right? There were a million and one things on my list. Coming up with a method for reminding students to put their names on their papers was pretty far down, but I did eventually find some ideas that worked.

Below are my top two nameless paper tips! One helps remind students to put their names on their papers. The other is a tip to help you figure out what to do if a nameless paper does get turned in. Check them out!

Stamp It!

Here’s a fun way to remind your students to write their names on their papers. Place an ink pad and a rubber stamp near your turn-in basket. If a child has written his name on his paper, he may stamp his paper before he turns it in. This silent reminder works wonders.

The Paper Pound

Eliminate the confusion of nameless papers with this unique idea. Each time a student leaves his name off his assignment, send the paper to the “paper pound.” The paper pound is a section of a bulletin board where nameless papers are posted. When the student realizes that his paper has not been returned to him, he checks the paper pound for his assignment.
