New Green Goal

First of all, just let me say that I’m hard pressed to believe that next Monday is Earth Day! Good grief, April has been a blur! In honor of Earth Day, I have a new green goal. Like y’all, I do my best to recycle, reuse, and reduce. However, minutes ago, I realized that I’ve not done my part when it comes to books. Get this: I do not own a single e-book! I need to do something about this—right away!

Are you an e-book reader? Any tips to share?

Going greener,
Diane

  1. Yes…I use my husband’s Kindle alot… BUT (you knew there’d be one, right?)…I really LOVE books! Just the feel of them, the smell of them, the whisper of the turning pages and the COLOR pictures!
However, sometimes, it is a LOT cheaper on the Kindle than buying the book…especially with postage and handling.

  2. I don’t own any e-books, either.

I guess I’m just old-fashioned. I like my books to be . . . books! I like my bookshelves. I have my books sorted by theme, and I know exactly where each book is when I need it. 🙂

  3. I love books also but my students love the new technology. If you make an account with Scholastic’s E-Storia, they will upload 5 books for free. The books are random and their choice.

It saves trees, doesn’t fall apart easily by careless children and is often less expensive. Sounds like a great deal to me!
