Lunchtime!

You may have seen these photos of school lunches from around the world as you were meandering around social media the past couple of weeks. To summarize, the photos show healthy versions of lunches in a variety of countries and a fairly unhealthy school lunch from the USA displaying chicken nuggets, mashed potatoes, and a tiny oasis of green peas. Now I know this will shock you, since everything we see on the Internet is true, but apparently the photos of the school lunches were staged and not accurate representations. (You’re stunned. I can sense it.) However, when I taught, the chicken nugget lunch actually was pretty accurate. In fact, I frequently ordered it myself. Those fried chunks of processed chicken, although terrible for you, are quite tasty.

All of this makes me wonder—what do you think about your school lunches? Do they appear to be healthy and appetizing?

PS: Here’s another school lunch website you may want to check out. The photos seem a bit more reliable, and you can search by country. It’s pretty fascinating!
