Here are the top 5 things I have said to myself while lesson planning:
- If I have to cut out 50 apple patterns to do that activity, I will end up stabbing myself with the scissors just to end the torture.
- Why can’t I find any independent practice on that skill?!?
- My students can’t do that! Whose students can do that? I’m not even sure I can do that!
- The people who wrote this teacher’s guide must have been drinking heavily during the planning stage.
I know that lesson planning is frustrating. Possibly the worst part is trying to pull everything together. You can find independent practice for your students but not a good introductory activity.
