What timesavers have you discovered when it comes to writing your weekly plans?
For example, do you write your plans more quickly while eating chocolate? 🙂 Or maybe you’ve learned that keeping a thick pad of sticky notes near your plan book or lesson-planning tool is a total timesaver. Please share!

We do lesson plans as a team. A few people do each subject to make our time planning more efficient!
Yes, I love to use sticky notes. I also use highlighters a lot to help remind me of things. Since I teach special education, I have students coming and going at several times during the day. It keeps me on track.

Save your lesson plans from year to year. Most likely you’re going to talk about bats again next October and will talk about patriotism around President’s Day. This has been a great time saver for me. I also save any unused materials from projects and tuck them away until the next year–a time saver and a money saver!
I keep my old plan books and review them for ideas. I also make sure I have THe Mailbox magazine there too. I actually read the Mailbox and write the ideas into my plan book that i am going to use.
I am with Nancy — I keep my plans from the previous year handy — I also make folders for each theme and keep them in a November hanging file folder – then I have something to quickly help me glance through in case I want to change something or do something different — this also helps me by keeping my originals and I can put them in a pile to make copies I need for the week or month.
