Ha! Ha! Ha!

Blog-Smiley-FaceDo I have some riddles for you? Yes, I do! In celebration of National Humor Month (April), I have five funny riddles and an activity that makes every kid a comedian! Talk with students about the importance of timing and emphasis on key words when telling a joke or riddle. Then ask each student to write an original riddle or copy a published one. Approve the riddles and provide time for student partners to practice telling their riddles. Set aside time on different days for students to share the riddles with their classmates. After each riddle is shared, invite a student to explain the humor behind it. Now about those riddles…

What do you call cheese that is not yours? Nacho cheese!

What do you call a fake noodle? An impasta!

Why don’t eggs tell jokes? Because they’d crack each other up!

Why did the police officer go to the baseball game? A base was stolen!

What type of markets do dogs avoid? Flea markets!

Do you have a riddle to share? Please do!

Smiles,

Diane
