Gulp—It’s Nearly August! Get Back-to-School Help Plus Win Three Books

In case you haven’t checked, August is right around the corner. (Sorry for reminder!) Don’t worry. I’ve been digging up some back-to-school help—teacher appreciation events, a shopping spree, and more—that you won’t want to miss!

Submit a comment to the blog by 11:59 pm EDT Sunday, August 2, 2015, to tell me which of the opportunities below are your favorites. Two lucky teachers will win three books that are perfect for welcoming and calming younger students as they begin a new school year.

In Mouse’s First Night at Moonlight School, shy little Mouse is nervous about starting school. Will a quick game of hide-and-seek give her the confidence she needs? Then duck siblings are reassured by mama duck as they head to school in Five Little Ducklings Go to School. They discover that, even though they miss their mama, school is great! In I Will Never Get a Star on Mrs. Benson’s Blackboard, Rose hopes her teacher will look beyond her messy desk to recognize her passion and creativity.  (Update: congratulations to Agnes and John, who are the winners of our prize.)

  1. would love the books for the first week back and can’t wait to go to the teacher appreciation days at Office Max

  2. 5 Little Ducks is one of my kindergarten students favorite songs. I would love to have the book to use on the first day of kindergarten when the parents are in the class waiting to say goodbye.
The Office Depot/Max gift card and Carson Dellosa Make over are awesome. It would feel like Christmas morning if I won these great prizes.

  3. I love 5 Little Ducklings because every year new children are like the little ducklings. They are cute, scared, and new to my classroom and ready to learn!

  4. Wonderful back to school books. I would love to give these to one of the 5 new teachers here at Lafayette Elementary School!

  5. Always looking for new books for the first few weeks of school. All the books look great! Can’ wait to share them with my students.

  6. I think the Carson Dellosa giveaway would be awesome to win! Thanks for the chance to win some new books!

  7. I would love to win the Carson Dellosa Contest! That would help me so much since I’m always stuck in a portable classroom!

  8. I entered the 2015 Classroom of Your Dreams shopping spree giveaway. Thank you too for the Office Depot and Office Max teacher appreciation days. They seem to change them every year.

  9. The Classroom of Your Dreams shopping spree would be a dream come true!! Thank you for offering the best giveaways!

  10. I love the Teacher Appreciation Days at Office Max and Office Depot. I try to attend every year. It gives me a chance to get discounts on supplies for my classroom using the 25% discount. Every penny saved is a penny I can use toward other things.
I cannot image what I would do if I won the classroom of my dreams. Every summer I look through the catologs and online to see other classroom arrangements and wish. It’s almost like when you were little and you would get the JCPenny Christmas catolog. Even as an adult I feel that feeling when I look at school supply catologs. I hope maybe one day I can win the classroom of my dreams. 🙂

  11. My children would love to have a “dream room”. I would definitely have them help design what would be ideal for them.

  12. Can’t get enough of Office Depot. so many products fit my classroom activities.
Thanks for supporting teachers again this year!

  13. All of these are wonderful. Most of our resources are purchased by each teacher so being able to have a chance at some free and pertinent classroom materials is a heaven sent!

  14. I Will Never Get a Star on Mrs. Benson’s Blackboard sounds so cute to read to my second graders who have big kid desks for the first time!

  15. As a first year teacher I have been spending my summer collecting books for my classroom library. What a great addition these three books would make in that library.

  16. All of these books sound fantastic! I have a budding Kindergartner who is very anxious about his new school. I would love to read these to him in order to ease the anxiety!

  17. I love the Duck book. When Kindergarten students come for the first time, they miss their mommy’s…so this would be the perfect story to read to them. We could then let them share about their moms. Nice ice breaker.
