Have a bin full of crayon nubs? Take them to your local A.C. Moore store to be recycled into new crayons—and then donated to children’s hospitals around the country! The promotion is in partnership with The Crayon Initiative and runs from June 28 to August 2. Plus, the A.C. Moore Foundation will donate $1 to The Crayon Initiative for every pound of crayons collected, up to $40,000. Get involved at acmoore.com.

Check out Sci Show Kids. Students will find videos to answer all kinds of questions, from why leaves change color to what causes thunder and lightning. Watch at youtube.com/user/scishowkids.

Here’s a fresh way to approach math: Bedtime Math’s Crazy 8s Club. You’ll get materials for eight weeks of club sessions for grades K-2 and 3-5. Find it free at bedtimemath.org.

  1. The three All American books sounds interesting. Especially “What is the Presidents Job?” that is a question that’s asked frequently by people of all ages.

  2. For a fun filled picnic with family and friends,I like curried egg and avocado salad, turkey salad with beans, kale, spinach and walnuts and baked paleo chicken tenders. For dessert a delicious coconut orange date balls. Delicious and healthy foods!
The books – a fine read.

  3. I usually look for the items I know I can rarely find in a store or in a food stand, so I’m running towards that roasted corn on the cob with butter and chili! Thanks for the opportunity to win these books!

  4. Any type of salad is perfect picnic food especially when eaten on the beach or poolside with family and friends!

  5. My favorite picnic food is macaroni salad 🙂 And grilled corn .. and maybe shrimp kebabs – FINE! I can’t pick just one I love them all!

  6. My favorite picnic food is fruit salad with whipped cream and colored mini-mallows. 🙂 Thanks for the contest!
