booksPost a comment to this blog no later than 11:59 pm EDT on September 5, 2016, to tell me which of the dates below you’ll be marking on your classroom calendar. From the comments, I’ll randomly select one teacher to win a Mom’s Family Calendar and a Mom’s Family Desk Planner, both of which feature 17 months of planning assistance and entertaining Sandra Boynton characters.  (Update: congratulations to Darlene, who is the winner of our prize.)

  1. When our kids get their schedules for their sports practices and games, they will be the first dates we put on the calendar.

  2. I definitely have the election date marked on the classroom calendar. This is a great opportunity to discuss the election process.

  3. Museum Day Live will be on my planner as the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum is our neighbor, right the public library where I will be working that Saturday!

  4. I color coded my kid’s events so I knew who had what on which night. It was easier to see blue was a certain child. Made life much easier.

  5. The election offers great opportunities for voting, character traits (what makes a good candidate/friend/partner), surveying, graphing, tallying.

I have yet to find the perfect planner – even ones I made to fit my needs. I love the color coding idea.

  6. Museum Day will definitely be placed on my calendar! My son loves going to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Hope that one is on the list! My Pre-K parents would love that info as well, especially if the Brooklyn and Manhattan Children’s Museum is on that list too.

  7. Election Day! My own two boys are all wrapped up on the election! The Mommy’s Family Planner would be awesome in organizing sports, school for me and Dad’s work schedule! Let the crazy begin!!

  8. I will definitely be putting museum day on my calendar as my oldest daughter loves going to museums. Election day will also be on my calendar. The deadline for the X-Acto prize pack will be in the calendar because I can’t pass up an opportunity to possibly receive more pencil sharpeners. Mine is on its last legs!

  9. I marked Election Day in my planner. Most of my students parents come from other countries so they need to learn about voting and elections.

  10. Museum Day for me. My city opens up all of the museums and it is AWESOME. I never knew we had a mental health museum.

  11. I will definitely have election day marked on the calendar. Not only does it remind staff and kids to tell their parents about voting, but it reminds the kids that we have a half day, no lunches are served so they must bring lunch/snack. 🙂
