End-of-the-Year Kindness!

Sometimes near the end of the school year, teachers, parents, and students begin to get tired of each other. I know this isn’t new information. Maybe you’ve developed an eye twitch, or you’ve been drinking more wine than usual, or you want to repeatedly smack your head against your whiteboard. Whatever your symptoms, they might arise from frustration and lack of kindness. That’s why you need this idea to help infuse the end of the school year with warm fuzzies–check it out!

Kindness will blossom in your classroom when students acknowledge one another’s kind deeds. Display a poster labeled “I Saw Someone Doing Something Nice.” Encourage students to write classmates’ kind deeds on the poster. Several posters will soon be filled with written reminders of students’ kindness.

Go ahead and give it a try! It’s sure to give you and your students a smile.

  1. LOVE this ….! We’re doing it TODAY. It is hard for students to ‘stay on task’ these last few weeks, but this will serve as a visual reminder to everyone … THANKS!
