Elf?

elf-1087758_1280I was recently asked to name my favorite holiday movie. I named Elf. There are plenty of other holiday movies I enjoy. Elf simply tickles my funny bone. So imagine my surprise when I took the quiz featured at We Are Teachers to find out which holiday movie best represents my teaching style and it turned out to be Elf! Here’s how my teaching style was described:

“You don’t have a problem bringing in some silliness to your classroom. Your teaching style is structured, but relaxed, and you look forward to the everyday giggles that come from your students.”

And this fits me to a T! I know you’re busy, but this is fun and the quiz takes less than one minute. Of course, you’ll need one more minute to leave a comment here at the blog that tells us your favorite holiday movie and the holiday movie that best represents your teaching style! Click here for the quiz.

Hoping to hear from you!

  1. The movies that I enjoy watching and represents my teaching styles are : 1973 – Charlott’s Web. I like the movie for its character traits: Love,Kindness, and self-worth.
And also the 1971 movie : Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Good Character traits: Gratitude, obedience, honesty and trust.

  2. I got ELF!

I love Jingle All The Way! It’s a family favorite that we watch year after year!

I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a restful break!! Take some time for yourself.

  3. I would like to thank everyone at the Mailbox for your help and support!
May the message of Christmas fill your life with joy and peace.
Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas and a blessed New year!

      • Thank you so much for the kind words and wishes. The Mailbox crew wishes all teachers and their families a very merry holiday season and a blessed new year!

  4. The Holiday was selected as reflective of my teaching style. My favorite holiday movie is White Christmas. And I really love The Bells of St. Mary’s, too.

  5. A Christmas Story is my favorite. My grown children come home and watch it as it cycles on TV. They laugh, snicker, remember similar times from their own childhoods. It’s fun to see some of ourselves in these characters and laugh at ourselves through them.

  6. My husband’s favorite is It’s a Wonderful Life. He loves the message that each of us can bring good to others. We, as teachers, work to bring good from our students as we encourage them to make wise choices and push them to succeed, both academically and in their relationships with others.

  7. Way hard to choose, but guess I would have to choose Miracle on 34th Street (with It’s a Wonderful Life right behind!). My quiz result was Home Alone which baffled me for a moment until it explained that “I” like “it” was a classic. Then, it made perfect sense to me, especially since this is my 40th year of teaching and am still loving it! Merry Christmas, Everyone!! 🙂

  8. I too got Elf, interestingly enough I’ve never seen that movie, it just does not seem that interesting to me. My favorite Christmas movie: “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

  9. My favorite is “It’s a Wonderful Life.” The best line of the movie is, ” Here’s to
George Bailey…the richest man in town.” It makes me cry every time, as I think of the power of kindness and friendship. George Bailey shows us that we all can make a difference. Second favorite is “Elf” because of its silliness but also belief in the Christmas spirit.

  10. I got Home Alone, and actually love the whole series of these movies. The description fits me well since I’m all about relationships! Here’s the actual quote: “You’re a classic. You understand the importance of being a great teacher and how that stems from the caring relationships you have with your friends and family.”
