Contests: Winning Technology for Your Classroom

Kids love technology. The more gigs and apps, the better. With that in mind, I’m sharing three contests that could help you introduce new technology into your classroom for free!

Submit a comment to our blog by midnight EDT on Monday, October 4, and let us know which of these contests you’ve entered. One lucky reader will win a technology prize pack, including the book 21st Century Skills: Learning for Life in Our Times from Jossey-Bass and the award-winning KidSpiration and InspireData from Inspiration Software. Submit your comment today! (Update: Congratulations to Sara, who was our winner!)

Do you have a wall-mounted interactive whiteboard in your classroom? Wouldn’t it be nice if you could move it around? Or maybe you don’t have an interactive whiteboard at all. Enter this contest from Copernicus Educational Products, and you could win the Royal Interactive Teaching Center, a mobile solution that includes an interactive Smart Board, a projector, storage, and more. It’s valued at $4,500! To enter, simply email friend@copernicused.com and explain why a mobile solution is better than a wall mount for your classroom. Get all the details at www.i-rover.info. The contest ends November 1, 2010. Enter today!

  1. Wow! Great contests to enter! I entered our school in the drawing for the Royal Interactive Teaching Center. Our classroom teachers were lucky enough to get SmartBoards for their classrooms this year. I think the library could greatly benefit from the use of a SmartBoard with teaching new technology, research & internet ideas vs. trying to show 20 students on one computer monitor. Keeping my fingers crossed!

  2. I just sent an email telling why our classroom could use a Royal Interactive Teaching Center. It would expand the possibilities for our room endlessly. This is an awesome opportunity.

  3. I’ve just applied to the grants listed as well. How exciting would it be to win such a prize package. I’d be happy winning the Inspiration software. I love all the software availabe to help in the classroom – I just wish I could afford it all!!!

  4. This is a wonderful opportunity for our small cooperative preschool. We could never begin to afford the interactive whiteboard. What a great prize.
Thank you Karen for all you do to link teachers to these great opportunities.

  5. I love having an Elmo–but it would be so amazing to have a Smart Board to go with it! I’m constantly wishing for more interactivity.

  6. We have been admiring the smartboard and interactive whiteboards others are using in their classrooms. We entered this drawing and would love to bring this technology to our pre-K students.

  7. The Royal Interactive Teaching Center is the most amazing piece of Technology ever it would be perfect in my classroom and I would be so happy to not have to share one smart board with 6 classes. Good luck to everyone
