Acts of Kindness

I receive emails in the morning that give me the current news headlines. They’re always depressing. Sometimes, they’re deeply depressing! This has not been a week filled with lots of positive news, which makes me more sure than ever that we need to emphasize kindness, caring, and other positive personality traits throughout students’ education. That’s why I’ve been putting a lot of character education in The Mailbox magazine, Preschool edition. So to counteract all the negativity, here’s my current favorite activities on kindness. (And hey, do something kind for someone today.)

  1. My class is writing to members of the military that we adopted at Homefronthugs.org. They are learning to do something kind and about people in other places.
