  7. I’m teaching language arts this year as well as social studies. “Around America to Win the Vote” would be so helpful to help my team teacher friend and me teach students about the struggle for women, so I’m “Replying to the Blog to Win the Book-Two Teachers, A Cup of Coffee, and 10,000 Hours Planning for Kids”……

  8. Oh, they all look wonderful. But since it’s an election year, anything extra to help the students understand why voting is so important would be much appreciated. So my vote would be for Around the World to Win the Vote.

  9. I like Around America to Win the Vote: Two Suffragists, a Kitten, and 10,000 Miles . . . our kids need to read about strong characters with purpose and mission!

  10. My favorite is the election map. I teach fifth grade social studies and this is a great addition to any unit on the electoral college.

  11. My husband’s grandmother was alive when the 19th Amendment passed, and she still votes at every election. I would choose the “Around America” book; I’d like to read it and share it with Grandma and my students.

  12. To show my 2nd graders that history is living and can be fun through wonderful storytelling is ALWAYS something I love to see and use in the classroom. Although animals are often top choices in their book bins, I would love to slip a copy of Across America to Win the Vote. Thanks!

  13. I would love to have any of them but I have to agree, Around America to Win the Vote sounds like the most likely to be used this fall to explain the election process. I work with homebound special needs students and I am always looking for ways to explain concepts like this easily to them. My students are primarily on pre-k to K level and they can relate to more easily to ideas like this if they are explained in this fashion.

  14. Wow! Both books look great! I think the Across America to Win the Vote would be very interesting and relevant to students right now. Thanks for the info! -Rachel

  15. Around America to Win the Vote: Two Suffragists, a Kitten, and 10,000 Miles, looks like a great book to teach about several subjects. I would love to own a copy.

  16. I feel it is very important for children to realize how precious our civil rights, including voting rights are. We are so lucky in the United States to have a constitution that guarantees those rights, and thanks to the suffragists for risking so much to earn those rights for women! They endured so many hardships. The book would be a great addition to our school library for all students to check out. I also love the poster for the election process to be easily explained.

  17. I would be excited to share the story Around America to Win the Vote: Two Suffragists, a Kitten and 10,000 Miles. This book would be a great way to introduce ideas about voting and our freedoms to the younger children.

  18. Around America to Win the Vote sounds like such a fun book to have in your classroom library! Survivor though sounds like a book the boys in my class might like!
