Putting up new displays and bulletin boards in your classroom can be time consuming–and who has time with the holidays on the horizon. So I knew you could use this simple display idea for December that is heavy on student work and light on work for you!
To begin, read aloud a version of the classic story, The Gingerbread Man. After the reading, give each child a brown construction paper copy of this gingerbread man cutout. Also provide doilies, pom-poms, and wiggle eyes. Encourage each child to use the items to decorate her gingerbread man. Next, give each student a copy of this story starter. Encourage her to complete the page. Then mount the crafts and writing pages to a bulletin board with the title, “Catch Me If You Can!”
