A Birthday and a Giveaway!

Ed Emberley’s 86th birthday is on Thursday, October 19. I loved his drawing books as a child, and as a teacher I was a huge fan of his picture books, Go Away, Big Green Monster, and his very first book, The Wing on a Flea.

Now you may or may not know that we changed offices recently and as a result had to downsize our picture book library here at The Mailbox®. So I ended up grabbing several books I thought readers might enjoy in their classrooms, including The Wing on a Flea. Serendipity! Reply to this blog and tell me how you like to celebrate your birthday. (Add your comment by October 22, 2017.) I’ll choose a comment by random number and will mail the winner our copy of The Wing on a Flea. It’s a fabulous book about shapes. 🙂

Happy Birthday, Ed Emberley!

P.S. As far as birthdays go, I vote for a massage, wine, and cake!
