Happy Monday to you! I know, I know. Happy Monday might be a stretch. Hopefully your Monday is going well, but just in case it’s gotten off to a shaky start, here’s something that’s sure to improve it!

In case you didn’t know, each spring we introduce new titles from The Mailbox Books. This spring, the topics range from arts and crafts to literacy to math to classroom management. And guess what…I’m going to give away two of our brand-new books! All you have to do is respond to one of my April blog posts. If you respond to one blog post, your name gets added to the drawing one time. If you respond to a second blog post, your name gets added another time, and so on. So far, counting this post, there are six April posts. And there will be more! So check out the new books at TheMailboxBooks.com and check back here for more blog posts (and more chances to win)! This book giveaway ends at midnight on April 30! Now, didn’t your Monday just get a whole lot better?

Smiles!
Diane

PS: Each winner gets the book of his or her choice!

The contest is over now—congratulations to Darlene and Pammie, winners of our April drawing!

Mondays……..are usually “fun days” for my class as usually over the weekend i have thought of some new rearranging ideas or some new craft ideas. The kids are usually excited to see what new fun or crazy thing i have thought of.

    Hi Diane :)
Yea Monday! Or should it be a “Mailbox Monday?” Students are usually SO quiet on Monday mornings, but I’m always happy to see their smiling faces.

Sometimes Mondays are difficult in the morning because children come back so excited after their long weekend.

Thanks for all the ideas. I love finding new ways to keep Mondays from being the most dreaded day of the week.

Monday afternoons seem long in my room because we don’t have specials like every other day of the week. Instead my 4th graders fill the time by reading and working with students in first grade. We call them their “buddies”. They have really enjoyed being a role model and building a relationship with them and the first graders get the same relationship and one more chance to work with someone one-on-one. It is a great experience for them all!

We call them Marvelous Mondays at my school. The kids come in eager and ready to learn. I come in refreshed from the weekend and ready to teach. All in all, they really are Marvelous Mondays.

I agree with “Claire”! Mondays are hectic! But I try to make them “Happy Mondays”. The children are usually tired but are happy to be at school.Thank Goodness! That’s usually half the battle!

We love Mondays in our kindergarten. We have started calling them “Math Mondays.” Although we obviously do math activities all week, we take some time on Monday mornings to learn new math games, or to do a special math activity.
