Your Favorite Month

Happy October! This is officially my favorite month of the year. I love the fall colors! I love the cooler weather! I love Halloween! Here at The Education Center, we have quite the Halloween celebration, including a costume contest, cubicle trick-or-treating, and a pumpkin decorating contest. (Take a gander at the photo of one of my pumpkin entries!)
My students could always tell that I was a complete geek for October. I’m sure I had an extra sparkle in my eye when I sang songs about pumpkins or had students make collages with colorful fall leaves. Everyone has a favorite month. What is yours? What do you enjoy teaching during that month? And, while you’re at it, do you have a least favorite month? Mine is March. March in Michigan, where I grew up and taught, is a dreary, sloppy month.
I hope to hear from you!
Kim

My favorite month is definitely June. I get to re-June-venate. I rest and think of all the exciting things coming up in the summer. School starts here at the first of August, still in my favorite season of summer. My least favorite is November. Daylight savings time has ended. There seems to be too much darkness, and longer days are not near.
My favorite month is September which I count as the Real Beginning of a New Year. (January is my least favorite month and could in no way be the beginning of a new year- too cold, too long, too dark too soon.)Anyhow, I love Sept because it is back to school and you meet your new class and get to know them. Everything is new and it is an exciting time. Plus, it is also the month of my birthday!
I love October, November and December : ) Halloween through Christmas! : )
My favorite month is October - pretty colors, nice weather, Halloween, great fall food! My second favorite is probably November.
My least favorite month is probably March - really long, no days off from work unless we have snow days, and while there’s less snow there’s not much growing yet, either.
My favorite month is October because my favorite season is autumn. I love the smells, the flavors, colors, and the holidays in the fall. That being said, however, my favorite holiday is Christmas followed very closely by Halloween. Halloween is the one time of the year that it is oka to be anyone or anything you want to be.
My least favorite month is February. It is just too cold!
I love fall! I love to decorate my home and classroom. We camp a lot so we always go to the Halloween camp out. Which is a lot of fun in our small town since we see a lot of students. Our classes go to the Apple Orchard and I love to watch them as they pick a pumpkin. I add fall into everything we are working on. In fact, I love fall into December-there is so much excitement and magic on it’s way. My least favorite month is March. It is usually a dreary time here in Ohio. By then I am tired of being stuck inside and ready for Spring.
I love December. Yes it is the most hectic month of the year but I love watching the excitement on the kids faces this time of year. I use everything about this season to teach. We journal about Christmas and Santa, we do lots of activities about Christmas. Its wonderful to me.
The month I like least is May. It is my last month with my class. I am always sad to see them go. I agree with about March too. I live here in Michigan and by March its still sloppy gray slushy snow. UGH. And never forget the hidden ice issues we in Michigan face. But I know you will agree we have the best falls.
I love all of the autumn months! The cool air just makes me so excited. Now the only problem this year is coming up with what to wear to school at the end of spirit week for Halloween!
This is also my favorite month all the decorations and stuff. we love all the fun activities that you can include in your schedule.
I do love October and November. I just adore the cool, crisp weather and here in New Mexico it is Balloon Fiesta time. The colors, Halloween, and family planning for the holidays are what make October and November fun.
My least favorite month(s)would be July and August.
It is hot and dry here. Several years back before moving to NM, my least favorite month would have been February, winters were colder back East.
I love October. The crisp autumn weather and all the fun festivals that go along with fall!
I think that November is my favorite month. I too, love the fall season, but not a big fan of Halloween. November has fall and family rolled up in one. My least favorite is March, it seems so long and cold and (even though I live where winter is mild) and there are no paid holidays in March. I guess that adds to it’s dreariness. But one of my five favorite children (my own) was born in March so it does hold some specialness!
