I am very excited to reserve this bit of cyberspace for communicating with fellow teachers like you! I hope you share in my excitement and will take the opportunity to talk with us by leaving comments on this Blog. As we venture through the school year I’ll use this Blog to discuss happenings at The Mailbox and the world of teaching.
Please leave a comment to let me know you found our new blog. Hope to see you here again soon!

I discovered The Mailbox blog this morning!
This past summer I did some educational research and found that the Internet is a wonderful tool and awesome resource for information but another important element surrounds the knowledge that I have gained from blogs. Many of these contained ideas and information based on experience. Thank you Mailbox for making this available to us!
I began my 35th year in Kindergarten. My 44th year in the classroom. I tell everyone about mailbox, my only regret is that I didn’t have it when I started out years ago. I’ve been a fan for many years now and look forward to hearing about other teachers and their ideas. I don’t want to get stale.
Yay! Thank you so much for starting a Mailbox blog! I’m looking forward to networking with other teachers, as well as throwing in some ideas of my own. The Mailbox rocks!
Just found the new blog! What a great idea! I have been a subscriber for the past 8 years and have found so many wonderful ideas in the Mailbox that I’ve used in both my second and third grade classrooms. Looking forward to another great year!
I really like the monthly calendars in the planning pages but I really wish there was a way to save a copy.
I LOVE this magazine! The activities, reproducibles, and online extras are perfect for my daycare children. I tell everyone I know about it. Keep up the good work.
Love the magazine and use it constantly. Please don’t forget to include activities for those advanced students in kindergarten also. We have a challenging curriculum in our school and I could use more activities that include academic rigor and “thinking skills”.
On Monday, I will begin my 29th year teaching kindergarten and The Mailbox Magazine has been a part of my teaching for most of those years! Thanks for all you do to help make my job a little easier. Whenever I meet a first year teacher (or student teacher!) one of my first “tidbits of wisdom” is to tell them to subscribe to your magazine.
The online resources are a very valuable tool….keep up the good work!
I love the new look of the website. I have been getting the Mailbox for the past ten years. I always find wonderful ideas that I put to use in my Kindergarten classroom.
I am new to The Mailbox, believe it or not; let me tell you, I LOVE IT! I have a home-based daycare and am always looking for something different since I usually have the same kids from infant until they start kindergarten. You have saved me SO much time and energy! I love that you cover everything from circle time through centers and cooking! We have used every idea including the bulletin boards for the past two months and I can’t think you enough! I am looking forward to seeing what’s to come……..
I have been a teacher for the past ten years, and the Mailbox magzines have been a life saver for me. The ideas are great for those teachers who have to use a variety of ideas daily. “Two Thumbs Up”
I think the new website is fantastic! I have been receiving the Mailbox for 8 years now, and still get excited when it comes in the mail. I know that I can always refer to an issue when looking for clever ideas.
I have been teaching preschool students who are differently labled for 9 years. I have found that the activities are easily modified. Regardless of challenges the children might face, they all are able to participate.
I would just like to say “THANKS!”
Thanks for all the great years of the Mailbox.
I’ve been a teacher for 30 years and have gotten the Mailbox ever since the early 1980’s.
I think I still have every issue. I subscribe to The Teacher’s Helper. Love that magazine. I came back to the Bookbag. I thank you for being a part of my classroom for many years. You seem to know just what I need to enrich my lesson plans.
I love the companion and all that it entails.
Keep up the good work and looking forward to a wonderful year.
The new look is great! I always look forward to the new issue of The Mailbox and the changes have made my excitement even greater. I tried something new this summer to help me find all of the ideas I want to use and I thought I would share it here. I went through each of my magazines found and the pages and ideas that I want to use. I then went to my teacher’s manuals and placed sticky notes listing the magazine issue and page number of each activity. When I am writing lesson plans the page and issue are much easier to find.
I love getting each issue of The Mailbox. I have had mixed feelings about the magazine combining K-1. I quit for a while but missed it so much I went back to having a subscription. I am thrilled you are returning to seperate K and First issues. Can’t wait for the website to be seperate to and will continue to make it an important part of each day.
WOW! The Mailbox Companion never ceases to amaze me. The new look is awesome and allows one to search for the topics with ease. I believe what I appreciate most about the Mailbox and Teacher’s Helper Magazine is that teacher’s can immediately use the teacher-shared ideas. Lastly, I have found the Substitue forms a BIG PLUS! The mailbox companion ROCKS!
I have a private preschool program which runs for 11 months a year, so August is the month I am away from the classroom, enjoying the sunshine and my garden. So, I don’t want to hear too much about “back to school” just yet. However, I do keep a pile of “to do” things on my counter, and I never sit down to watch TV or a movie without working on some sort of cutting, stapling, or book prep for “back to school” time. I also find it works well when I’m traveling or visiting relatives to bring along a bag of projects that need to be cut or prepared for my classes. It keeps my hands busy while I’m catching up with family and I find that my mom, daughter and sisters, in particular, like cutting shapes or binding kid’s books to help me out. Your magazine has been a huge help over the years in putting together fun, engaging, “hands-on,” age appropriate lessons that make learning fun. Each month, I literally take my magazine apart and file all the different activities in my seasonal folders. Your monthly calendars and cute, programmable lists and charts are all utilized in my school too. I look forward to following everyone’s comments as the school year goes along.
I just can’t thank you enough for all of the great ideas that you share. I use ideas from your magazine as well as from Mailbox Companion all of the time. Everything is easy to use, looks great, and saves me a lot of time that I can definitely use elsewhere! Thanks!!!!
I have been teaching for 27 years and have been using you books, magazines and ideas in my classroom for at least twenty of those years. I have been a witness to all the changes and love the refreshing ideas that I find in the magazine. I also use The Teacher’s Helper magazine in my class.
I appreciate the new look of your website — it made searching for the topics I’ll be working on this fall very easy! I have been in education for 20+ years, and your products are the consistent staple in my collection of teacher “stuff.” I just attended my 20th college reunion, and have fond memories of developing teaching units in the basement of the “old” campus library using your magazines even then!! Keep up the good work!
